Speech Finale!

Who do you think won the amazing speech finals out of whole middle and senior school. Well guess what I'm not gonna tell you until you read and find out yourself. On the day of the speech finals everyone was excited because we were going to hear the best speeches in the whole school! Our first competitor was Alex Tolmie.   Her speech was about frogs. At the end she had a lot of confidence.The next competitor was quite a competitive one. Her name was Marcia Los,  Marcia had a big clear voice and she read us her speech that got her into the finals.It continued on the same way.After Marcia was Robyn,Nisha,Jayden,Quinn,Pia, Blake,Chloe and finally Emma-Jane.At the end everyone was excited to find out who was the winner.Guess what ROBYN WON!!! Everyone was happy for Robyn but room 3 was the proudest because Robyn won it for room 3.

It is week 1 of our new topic, yet we have learnt a few things like people in space have to exercise because they aren't using

they're not using their muscles.

These are only some of the many simile words. similes are words that describe the thing.
E.G. The sun is as hot as lava, The dog is as cut as a kitten,  The sky tower is as big as a

Annoying Speeches

"Speeches, Speeches, Speeches!""I shouted. Why do speeches have to be so annoying? It is as annoying as writing that would take for a year. Well speeches is writing a long story of facts and you have to read it out in front of the class. The worst part is writing the speech. You have to research, plan it and write it. Our speech has to be at least TWO minutes and THIRTY seconds. That would take about a week to research, plan and write. Do you find speeches annoying because you don't want to write or you don't want to read it out in front of the class. Same with me I don't like speeches, sometimes you think it's boring, or you don't want to do it. Some people think it's a waste of time. So feel free to write what you want for a SPEECH!!! 

"Boom, Crash, Bang, Woof, Meow!!"

These are only some of the many onomatopoeia words. Onomatopoeia words mimic the sound.
e.g. "SMASH!" It sounds like something smashing.  "WOOF!" like a dog sound. "Meow!" like the sound a cat makes.  If you still don't get it this song will help A LOT!

It's so CUTE

The cutest animal was the red panda. The red panda was jumping on the tree softly and it was showing of  it was adorable it was going up and down the tree. And it was going in it's house but I think it liked the outside better because it was more fun jumping on the tree then staying in a house.The red panda went all the way to the top and came down then it was jumping on it's house lightly it keeps on going out and in every second.But then it stop's and it just was walking around on the branches. I saw it twice. First I saw it when I entered the zoo but I couldn't see it but then I did it was climbing up to the top.Then I found it again when my group found the meeting place we were just watching the red panda until everyone was there. The red panda didn't do much when I first saw it.And so many people liked the red panda it was a tiny bit full so I couldn't see it then I saw it's tail ling on a branch and it was moving higher and higher on the tree.I think it would have been cooler if there was at lest two red pandas.I never saw the red panda at the bottom on the grass.And i didn't see it eat or drink but I still liked it.The red panda looked like a red raccoon but it's a panda as you can tell by it's name. That's the my favorite animal and that's the story of when I meet the CUTEST animal in the zoo.

A Day At The Zoo

"Yay we are going to the Zoo today!"Our favourite thing we did for our New Zealand rotation was the kiwis because we have never seen one before and we had to find them in the dark room.The female Kiwi has a long Beak and is fat and the male Kiwi is skinner then the female Kiwi and it has a shorter beak.After that we went and saw one of our favourite animals the Meerkats.We liked the Meerkats because of the way they stood and ran from one place to another.We saw about 8 Meerkats.What a wonderful day we had that day.

Strong Swinging Monkeys

On Monday the middle school and senior school from the awesome
 Howick Primary school went to the Auckland Zoo. There were heaps of animals but my favourite were the monkeys.
They swung so fast.  It looked like they did not care if they fell.  They used their
strong tails to swing from rope to rope or from branch to branch.  They made those
weird noises.  The monkeys could also hang on the branch or rope for a very long time.
There were big monkeys,small monkeys and medium sized monkeys.  They hardly stopped
swinging.  If I was to hang or swing I would fall in like thirty seconds.  Some monkeys were
on the ground.  But most of the like m were obviously swinging and making those weird noises.
They are so light because they stood on leaves and it did not break.  If I stood on the
leaves I would fall off.  It felt like I was in the circus.  Not any kind of circus.  It was the best
circus.  They made those noises the whole time.  I have never seen monkeys like that before.
I would so love to be a strong swinging monkey.  That would be awesome,swinging from
branch to rope.  Your hands would hardly get blisters or burns.   I would definitely be a monkey
if we had a choice.  They are so cool.  That is why monkeys were my favourite animal at the
zoo.

Tigers Are Awesome!!!

I herd a massive ROAR!!! as I went past. 

It was Monday the 28th of July, the seniors and middle school went to the ZOO!!!

We went past loads of animals, there were: Lions, Penguins, Red Pandas, Seals and much much more but my favorite was the Tigers because they have a huge ROAR!!! there 

were two enclosures and a little metal bridge going across from one enclosure two anther.  one was walking across the bridge.  I loved the zoo trip (IT WAS AWESOME!!!) When  Senior and middle school left my dad seed we can stay with Aidan and Travis.  we got Ice Cream!!!  (YUMMY!!!!!)

Can't Resist The Animals

Our school Howick Primary went to the Auckland Zoo on Monday the 28th of July. We discovered the zoo and the Red Panda was my favorite animal in the zoo because it is so cute and adorable. They are good tree climbers and they like showing off.  The Red Panda is red, skinny, has a dark tummy and a long tail.

Migration MysteryTrip

Brr, roar,squawk we are animal agents from Howick Primary School.

 we  went to Auckland Zoo to investigate animals for our senior topic our  WALT was about migration my favorite animal was the fat pig because it snorts like a duck.

 Jason,s favorite animal was the black handed spider monkey.

We enjoyed all the learning stations about the animals they were 

Eels Gannets birds and the one amazing bird called the KIWI.
