Sean's 9th Birthday Party

For my birthday party we had an amazing camp-out and we roasted marshmallows over a real fire. We all slept in a big tent.  The marshmallows were delicious, crunchy, gooey,  and some of them were golden, others were black!!! ( not so nice.)

We stayed up all night and we were playing on our devices, playing hide and seek in the tent and nobody could find me!! In the morning we went up to the house and watched TV.  Next we played on the Xbox 360 kinect.  We were playing Halo two player and we were taking turns.

For breakfast we had chocolate chip waffles with golden and maple syrup!!! YUM!!!

Raining And Pouring

It was raining pouring everywhere in Auckland. The Cyclone Lusi finally came rushing to Auckland. The sky was dark and there was crashing noises around us like lightning. I said "why does it have to rain at Saturday the 15th of March". It constantly rained the whole day including the morning and the afternoon. The Cyclone Lusi was formed from a pacific island far from the top of New Zealand. I bet people who do outside sports had to stay home all day. Like my day, it was changed because I was supposed to do outside sports like Tennis but it was raining. Also there was something strange. My home internet was off. Some people thought that there was a power cut from the internet company. Do you know what is a Cyclone. A Cyclone is a disaster that may cause a flood. A Cyclone is very strong wind and rain. It may be dangerous to go to the north of Auckland because your umbrella may blow away from the heavy rain and the wind. Guess what? I went to a buffet in botany and I opened the door and the door flew open. So if that happens in the city or the north Auckland the door will open much faster like the door is going to break if it opens too fast. Luckily Cyclone Lusi missed us so if Lusi came to us we would have had a flood.

Namar's homework paragraph

On Thursday everyone said to me that something special is happening today.  They all knew it but me, every young and old person kept telling that their was something special happening so I kept talking guesses.  I also checked if there were any signs around.  Soon after giving up I found a wrapped piece of paper that said "Today is the swimming carnival!" I said "I found out the event yay!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!! I did it."

Who wants an ice block?

''Me, Me, Me, Me!!'' say the children waiting in line to get their refreshing ice blocks. Every Friday at lunch time iceblocks are sold for camp fundraising. The ice blocks are sold for $1 in the hall after the lunch eating bell.
Our record is 167 ice blocks sold in one day (amazing right). The ice block monitors are: Robyn, Anthony, Rayne and Jayden. But Rayne and Jayden are no longer monitors because Anthony and Robyn are training new monitors who are Year 5.

The third thing was make little flags of were we come from the teacher took photos of us and we had to make a flag then stick our face next to our flag and put it on the boat.

Rock Climbing At Extreme Edge

Ever wondered what rock climbing is like? There was a lot of walls there was easy walls for kids, challenging walls for teens and there was extreme walls for adults. There was an adventure land for kids one to nine. My favourite part of rock climbing is when we got to go in the adventure land to climb the other walls and slide down bouncy castles. Leyton's favourite part was the hockey table.

The Powerful Relationship

On the 18th of February Mrs Simpson came into room 3 to teach us about SOLO taxonomy. The thing room 3 choose for the topic was friendship.  As the word was everyone rushed to their desks at the speed of light. As soon as they reached their desks they started getting pieces of paper and writing as fast and neat as could, many people like Jayden and Namar did five ideas as well as some others did. At the end Mrs Simpson called everyone down to the mat and as soon as the word was said everyone raced to the floor. Everyone started sharing their ideas on the mat and putting them into relevant piles and not relevant  piles, some of the ideas were mostly sharing, caring, playing and friendly. At the end everyone was impressed by their hard work and so were the teachers impressed and just like that everyone was happy and the teacher left by giving us a congratulations for our great effort.

Lukas' Reading Comprehension Diamonds

For Reading in room 3 we have been doing Reading Comprehension Diamonds. Miss Lister told us we could do it in groups of our choice so we did. My group was Namar, Jayden and I. Namar was reading while me and Jayden were listening. Then we cut it and folded the lines. After that we write under the Who? What? Were? And When? about the story. Then we coloured it to make it nice and colourful. Now you can come to our class and look at it on the Reading Wall!!!!

Our head full of personality

Here we are sitting on the mat waiting for Miss Listers instructions.
Then she said we are making heads full of our hobbies and things we relate to.
Here are some of the heads Room 3 have done.
My favourite is all of them but the best in my opinion is Salomi, Natalia, Arial and Robyn's

Connections have begun

On Monday we were introduced to our new topic called Connections.

Connections are things that relate to people. It's like your family, it's connected to you. So it means that they are part of your life.

Also your neighbours and your school is part of connections.

Friends can be part of connections because they help you and you get better.

Teachers are part of connections because you know them.

So people you know have CONNECTIONS!!!!

Our Presentation Group Today

Great success today with our presentation group!! Very creative and entertaining.  Great thinking outside the box.  This was an outstanding effort for you first turn.  I cannot wait to see what you will do next Wednesday.

But sadly  Strikers have lost a game by one point but Southern Storm as they have won all there games. The sport that Southern Storm hasn't played is long ball and non stop cricket.. The kids will have to bring there drink bottle and their own sunblock cause the weather has started to get more hotter and a hat. So far all the teams have done outstanding for the past 3 weeks doing hard work and supporting each other. The captain for strikers  is Robyn for Southern Storm is Elliot the sport that strikers haven't played is long run.

The School Cricket Team

On Wednesday the 26th of February the Howick Primary School cricket team was going to have their first match against Pigeon Mountain  Primary.  Sadly we lost by 1 point.  But we did some good hits and good bowls.  Some people got 2 points and some got 4 but Mason almost got 6 points.  Mitchell saved 8 points from their team.  It was a very exciting game to watch. We can't wait till the next game.  It was a good game.  We like watching cricket.
